7 Ways To Prevent Ageing Naturally
There are many natural ways to fight against ageing, so you don’t really need to invest in expensive creams or spa therapies. From drinking more water to exercising regularly, take a look at the simple things you can do to give yourself a youthful boost, naturally.
Hydration, hydration, hydration
It is especially important to keep ageing skin well hydrated from the inside as well as the outside, as it helps plump up your complexion and maintain skin elasticity.
This means wrinkles can appear smoother, and skin that looks dull can be transformed into a healthier glow. Women should aim to drink 2.5 litres to help replenish the water we loose throughout the day, flush out toxins and carry nutrients around the body.
Lift a little weight
Regular exercise is one of the most important things you can do to enhance your lifestyle and help you feel younger. It also reduces major health risks such as diabetes, heart disorders and injuries.
Many women are worried that lifting weights will give them a masculine look. But actually, lifting small weights can help improve your strength and posture, as well as maintain bone strength.
Get rid of harsh chemicals
Your skin produces natural oils to help maintain healthy levels of hydration. Harsh cleaning detergents such as those found in traditional shampoos can strip these oils and have a very drying effect.
It’s best to use only the best organic shampoos and conditioners whenever possible, as these contain natural ingredients which provide a gentle cleanse, and help keep your hair and scalp healthy and moisturised.
Clever foods
Nuts and cocoa are great sources of energy, and deliver healthy fats, vitamins and minerals that can help fight the signs of ageing by smoothing skin and improving circulation.
Omega-3 is a natural anti inflammatory that can help your hair grow and keep your skin supple, and you can easily add more to your diet by regularly taking fish oil capsules.
Ensure that the foods you are eating are jam packed with antioxidants. One of my favorite supplements for this is Matcha powder. The health benefits of matcha powder are amazing!
Time to relax
Stress can compromise the immune system, cause high blood pressure, heart disorders and skin inflammation. None of these things will help stem the ageing process, and there are many natural ways to try and get rid of it.
Meditation, yoga and stretching are great ways of calming your mind and winding down after a busy day. Deep tissue massages and reflexology are other great ways of improving blood circulation, relaxing your muscles, and getting rid of any aches and pains.
Use natural oils
Instead of using cleansers or shower gel every day, you could use a natural oil containing linoleic acid to help boost skin elasticity, calm redness and improve circulation.
Sesame oil and olive oil are great alternatives, just massage it all over your body and then rinse off in the shower. This will also wash away dead skin cells and improve your skin tone.
Exfoliate with sugar
Sugar is the hidden enemy found in many products that are marketed as healthy or fat free. Processed sugar can speed up the ageing process by weakening collagen, which can mean more wrinkles and sagging skin.
You can add some sugar to a mild cleanser to create a natural body scrub, which will help exfoliate gently and achieve smoother looking skin. As the sugar dissolves, it easier not to go overboard and cause dryness.
